Taxi in Positano: stations, airports and city journeys

Arrival and the right meeting point

Positano has road access from the Sorrento peninsula; Napoli Centrale is an arrival point outside the resort, not a railway station in Positano. In this steep town, distinguish your accommodation address from the usable roadside meeting point. If arriving by train at Napoli Centrale and continuing directly to the coast, start the request at Napoli Centrale. If you have already reached Positano, use your local address instead. Via Pasitea helps distinguish the vehicle journey from the walk down towards the beach.

Finding your way around local landmarks

Spiaggia Grande and Fornillo are separate beaches. The centre includes lanes and stairways: for accommodation near the water, ask which final section must be walked instead of entering the beach as a taxi stopping point. Even when accommodation looks close to the pier on a map, the actual route can include stairs and changes of level. Ask your host how to move luggage between the entrance and road; a road transfer does not automatically include a boat or porter service.

Planning the return and onward connections

Montepertuso and Nocelle are in the upper part of the Positano area. Accommodation there needs a different address from Spiaggia Grande; a meeting point used for a beach visit should not automatically become your return pickup. For a flight from Naples Capodichino, separate the journey from upper Positano from your time at the airport. Name Montepertuso or Nocelle when staying there, together with the accommodation street: entering Positano alone does not resolve this important difference.

Prepare your pickup

Enter the street, building number and accommodation name when it helps identify the entrance. If arriving by train or plane, prepare the journey reference and keep your phone reachable. Check the summary before sending your request and then follow the confirmation instructions. Sending a request is not yet confirmation of a driver, and a general address does not replace an agreed meeting point.

Luggage, children and individual requirements

Count passengers, suitcases and bulky items separately. A group carrying several bags may need a different vehicle from two people with hand luggage. Mention children, pushchairs or accessibility requirements in advance. Do not assume that a child seat or suitable vehicle is available: wait for the necessary features to be confirmed before relying on the transfer.

Journey price and travel time

The journey price depends on the applicable taxi rules, route and any supplements. Do not read a journey-time estimate as a guaranteed price, or confuse the fare with the platform service. Pay the ride directly to the driver. Leave a margin before a flight, train or event: road traffic, luggage and access arrangements can all affect the overall time.
